About Me:

My background includes graduating with a BFA in Photography from the University of Georgia. I am so proud to say we were using film, and the darkroom was my favorite place. I had really great influential teachers there... Dr. Nix who taught us how to build our first pinhole camera, Mary Ruth Moore (pinhole photographer extraordinaire), Mark Steinmetz - who was very influential in teaching me to see things differently and a huge part of my vision for my personal art, and all of the others in the fine art photography department. I appreciate every moment there and living in that very neat town where I learned to grow as an artist.

I loved to take photos along the road on my 4 hour journey to and from my hometown of Waycross, Georgia (south) and back to Athens and would create many personal series' of the landscape, people and family around me, and random beautiful (to me) kinds of things.

Fast forward about 18+ years or so from college days and creating my photography business in Athens... I now live in Bradenton, Florida with my man, 2 dogs, and daughter Sonny. She has also shifted my focus and has helped create even more beautiful inspiration to my photography.

The way I shoot is a mixture from my experience in Art / Editorial Photography from UGA, combined with a Commercial Photography diploma from Gwinnett Tech, and 6 years of studio experience. I'm thankful for every moment... despite my school loans.

What started the Pet Photography Obsession?

Long story short...

After graduating from UGA with a BFA in Photography and later a commercial photo diploma from Gwinnett Tech, I worked at a portrait studio for 6-ish years.

During this time I lived in one of my absolute favorite places, Athens, Georgia. I was living by myself and my mom believed I needed a dog. I had nothing to do with this decision... but she went to the pound in our hometown of Waycross, Georgia...and when she didn't quite see what would fit for her daughter, she asked if there were any more she hadn't seen. They reluctantly led her to a dog who had just been turned in, she was left at the Health Department in a box.

She was scraggly, probably only 3 months old, and that was the one. Mom drove her to Athens and brought her to the studio where I worked... she had a huge red bandana (seemed huge on her tiny scruffy body) and we literally fell in love at first site.
